Who are you, anyway?
About TAE The Actors' Enterprise was founded to provide affordable coaching to the thousands of NYC actors who want to feel more fulfilled and in control of their careers. Many actors feel a loss of power and a sense of frustration when it comes to managing their careers. This is because there is so much emphasis on the "craft" of acting that actors rarely get to focus on what it takes to actually get in the door. Plus, actors have been led to believe that people are just "born" with business sense or they aren't, and many actors would admit that the business-side completely eludes them. So, if we aren't "just born" with these skills, and acting schools aren't teaching them (and, trust me, they aren't) - what are actors to do? The good news? As actors, we are actually much more in control then we think we are. Because... BUSINESS SENSE IS LEARNED. The Actors' Enterprise can get you right on track! We provide comprehensive support and guidance for an actor's career in a relaxed and fun environment that is less than half the price of most private career coaching. This includes coaching on business skills, audition technique, and career development tools that can take the actor to the next level- no matter where they are starting from.
About The Founder, Erin Cronican Professional Associations Screen Actors Guild (Member) Interviews DramaBiz Magazine- "Caring for Actors" I'm an ENFJ "Idealist Teacher" Read about this Myers-Briggs/Keirsey personality profile here.
Background I have been coaching actors in the business of acting for more than 7 years, but have been involved in theater as an actor almost longer than I can remember. I had my first juicy stage role at the age of 9 (as the Gander in "Charlotte's Web"), and followed my passion all the way to Pepperdine University, where I received my degree in Theater (Acting Emphasis.) I began acting professionally straight out of school in San Diego's bustling theater scene (click here to view my full resume), but also put my business side to work in the sales and marketing departments of a national advertising magazine publisher. In 2001 I decided to bring my two disciplines, marketing and theater, together to help San Diego actors reach their goals, in a way I didn't have when I was starting out. My first coaching venture was "Auditions Made Simple", an audition/interview coaching service for high school students applying for college theater/film programs. This included coaching in monologue/song selection and performance, marketing materials (including headshots, resumes, postcards and cover letters), interviewing skills for their college search, and general support in the theater community. Almost immediately I branched out to include coaching for adults and found that the need for business training is paramount in the acting industry. In mid 2002 I was brought on as Communications & Member Services Director at the Actors Alliance of San Diego, a non-profit service organization dedicated to the advancement, exposure and education of the San Diego theater artist. Through AASD, I discovered that I could use my skills to serve actors of all levels, and thus closed my private coaching service in favor of supporting actors at the community level. I spent 3 wonderful years at AASD- click here to learn more about what we did for the San Diego theater community during my tenure. |

While in San Diego, I also served for 2 years as a member of the Actors' Equity Liaison Committee, a group of Equity actors elected by the membership to serve as a liaison between local members and Equity's regional office. We lobbied for contract change in San Diego, supported fellow union members in their pursuits, developed positive relationships with local theaters to help increase union jobs, and educated union members about union contracts and policies. Since moving to New York in 2005, I have been steadily working in SAG, AFTRA and AEA projects, including a supporting role in the 2009 film "Cold Souls" starring Paul Giamatti, starred as the title role in the independent feature film "Playing Doctor," appeared in 5 episodes of "One Life to Live" (Recurring Under 5) and landed leading roles in the musical comedies, "Subways Are For Sleeping" (1st revival) and "Socks" (world premiere musical), among others. I am very excited to bring my skills and insights to New York actors in a format that is inspiring, inexpensive and effective. To learn more about my professional acting background, click here. I worked in the corporate world for over 10 years in marketing, sales, advertising and training. If you have questions about these credentials, please email me. Thanks!
